The Tommy Fund annual Christmas party 2017
The Tommy Fund annual Christmas party was held on December 3, 2017. The party was attended by more than seventy-five children and their families. All children in attendance are currently undergoing treatment at Smilow and have received financial assistance through the Tommy Fund. This is a day where the children, their families and the caregivers get together for four hours of holiday cheer. The party includes an abundance of food, games, dancing, crafts and of course Santa Claus. All of the children receive gifts and some great memories with their families and caregivers outside of the hospital setting.
Denise Carr, Tommy Fund board member, is the chairperson from this event. Denise stated, "I would like to thank all the social workers, child life specialist, nurses, doctors who attended the party and helped it come together.” The Tommy Fund and Denise would like to thank the venue, the Italian American Club in West Haven, for hosting and working so graciously with our organization.
Although this event is not a fundraiser, with the support of a few generous donors, we are able to cover all the costs of the event
